Wingless Chapter 1: Evelyn I
Evelyn I
The door smashes open with the anger of the intruders who barge into my room. I can feel the wall rattle from the force of wood smashing against the wood, and the floor rumbles from the intruders’ heavy boots storming in.
I do not dare to peek out of my closet. These intruders want blood, and they are not going to spill mine.
“Where’s the girl?” Something crashes in my room. From the shattering glass permeating the crash, I am going to assume it is the sculpture of a tiger Muriel gave me for my birthday last year. It is all I can do to keep my anger contained and not burst out of the closet.
Yet I know I a

You are awesome, dammit!
I've been pretty angsty the last couple days over letting stupid, little things get under my skin way more than they should. I almost let it happen again this morning. But I'm not doing it! I'm not letting this shit eat at me again.
I'm better than this and I'm gonna have a great goddamn day!
And you're better than anything trying to bring your down too! Let's have a great goddamn day together!
Huzzah!

LAVENDER TOWN: Chapter 9
During this past weekend and the Monday following it, I spent most of the time by myself sulking after what I'd experienced with Chris. I locked myself in my room. I barely ate. I didn't talk to a soul. I'll be the first to admit that it's not exactly healthy behavior. In fact, I would go so far as to say that my extreme response to Chris' actions, which were practically harmless in nature, surprised even me. Yes, I can't even believe I reacted like that.
Sure, he did inadvertently resurface a sensation I've tried my hardest to not think about. Even still, it's been four years. I thought I'd be over it by now. I'm kind of embarrasse

Sadie picks up a pancake and throws it across the room. It's so doused in syrup that it meets floor with a hard, wet slap. I want to laugh, but I'm the one that's going to be cleaning it up, and that makes it a lot less funny. I mean, we just moved in here a week ago. Mom's going to go berserk if the floor is already sticky.
"Why exactly did you do that?" I interrogate my sister. I don't know what kind of detailed response I expect from a six-year old, but I have to ask.
"It was burned." Sadie insists. "I don't like it when it's burned."
Upon inspectio

Nicolas Jiménez is transgender? Really?
During roll call of the first period of my first class of the first day of the new school year, this bombshell was dropped. The rest of the class continues with me staring in... well, in her direction, I suppose. I just find myself watching helplessly from the back corner of the room while the other students tease and berate her. I feel bad, but I'm still kind of taking this all in.
The last time we spoke - if you'd even call it that - was in gym class one day last year. An athlete, I am not. He tried to pass

Last year, my mom sent me to St. Celeste Middle School, a well known all girl private school. It’s a pretty upscale place. If you actually have the money and reputation (and are a “girl,” presumably), you probably couldn’t do much better. I suppose it’s known for shaping their students into dignified young ladies befitting of their rich, prissy status. At least, that’s the rumor that brought me there. By extension, that made it my personal hell.
“Mirabelle Penelope Forcier!” My mom would say. “I’
